モンテ・ヘイル（本名サミュエル・ビューレン・イーリー）は、アメリカのB級西部映画のスターであり、カントリー音楽のミュージシャンでした。テキサス州サンアンジェロで生まれたと報じられることもありましたが、実際にはオクラホマ州エイダで生まれ、オクラホマ州ショーニーで育ち、ワシントン小学校とショーニー高校に通いました（テキサス州の出生地は映画にとってより良い響きがあるとされていました）。エイダとエニッドのさまざまな仕事で労働者として働いた後、ヘロド・イーリーはショーニーに定住し、神の教会の伝道者になりました。彼の長男ビューレンは、父の礼拝で音楽の才能を活かして知られていました。彼は初めてのギターを買う...
