ジェームズ・バートン（1890年11月1日 - 1962年2月19日）は、アメリカのバーレスク芸人であり、映画やテレビのキャラクター俳優でした。 ニュージャージー州グロスターシティの演劇一家に生まれたバートンは、1898年にミンストレルショーやバーレスクハウスでのパフォーマンスを始めました。アフリカ系アメリカ人のパフォーマーとの経験を経て、アメリカで最初のジャズダンサーの一人となりました。南部や中西部のレパートリーカンパニーでの活動を経て、1919年のミュージカルレビュー『ザ・パッシング・ショー』でブロードウェイデビューを果たし、エド・ウィンのために用意された役を演じました。彼はしばしば平凡...
