グロリアはアメリカン・フィルム・インスティテュートで6年間、修士課程を教えていました。彼女は監督、脚本家、プロデューサーを指導し、彼女の成功したAFIの学生にはパティ・ジェンキンス（『モンスター』（2003年））、ブライアン・ダンネリー（『セーブド!』（2004年）、『ウィーズ』（2005年））がいます。
