1953年にマンチェスターのバーネイジで生まれたデイビッド・スレルファルは、舞台、映画、テレビで活躍する著名な俳優です。特に、チャンネル4の「シャムレス」での無能なフランク・ギャラガー役で知られています。1994年、マンチェスターのロイヤル・エクスチェンジで「モンテ・クリスト伯」の制作に携わっている際に、ボスニアの女優ブラナ・バイジックと出会い、翌年に結婚しました。
