ロベルト・ベニーニ（1952年10月27日生まれ、イタリア・アレッツォのミゼリコルディア）は、コメディ作品で知られるイタリアの俳優兼監督であり、特に『ライフ・イズ・ビューティフル』（1997年）での演技によりアカデミー賞最優秀主演男優賞を受賞しました。 ベニーニは、第二次世界大戦中にドイツの強制労働キャンプで働いていた貧しい小作農の息子です。父親のベニーニは、自身の経験を語る際にユーモアを用い、それが息子のコメディの才能を形成する手助けとなりました。ベニーニはフローレンスのイエズス会の神学校に短期間通い、その後、マジシャンの助手を経て、1960年代後半にアンダーグラウンドの劇団に参加しました...
