ジョージ・"スパンキー"・マクファーランドは、1928年10月2日にアメリカ・テキサス州ダラスでジョージ・ロバート・フィリップス・マクファーランドとして生まれました。彼は俳優であり、『ジェネラル・スパンキー』（1936年）、『我が家のガング・フォリーズ』（1937年）、『ビギナーズ・ラック』（1935年）で知られています。彼はドリスと結婚していました。1993年6月30日にテキサス州グレープバインで心臓発作により亡くなりました。
