ルカ・ベルコビッチは、ニューヨーク生まれの第三世代の映画製作者で、ロンドン、ローマ、ニューヨーク、カリフォルニアなど、遠く離れた場所で育ちました。ベルコビッチ氏は、レッドウッズ大学、サンタモニカ大学、ロヨラ・メリーマウント大学に通いました。1979年、ベルコビッチ氏は日本で6ヶ月を過ごし、ミニシリーズ『ショーグン』（1980）のダイアログディレクターとして、日本の女優・島田陽子（ゴールデングローブ受賞、エミー賞ノミネート）と特に仕事をしました。アメリカに戻った後、彼は俳優としてのキャリアをスタートさせ、多くの長編映画に出演しました。代表作には、『アメリカン・フライヤーズ』（1985年、ケビン・...
