経歴・プロフィール
ニューヨーク出身で、両親はシチリアからの移民。70年代後期から過激な街頭パフォーマンスや、新表現主義の画家ジャン＝ミシェル・バスキアとバンドを組むなど様々な活動を始める。ニューヨークのアンダーグラウンドで映画監督をしていたエリック・ミッチェルの作品に出演し、以降マルチアーティストとして活躍する。98年、自ら主演・脚本・音楽も務めた「バッファロー’66」で監督デビュー。監督、主演第2作目「ブラウン・バニー」（03）では製作過程のほぼ全てに携わり完璧主義を印象づける。第67回ベネチア国際映画祭で7年ぶりの監督作「Promises Written in Water」と主演作「エッセンシャル・キリング...
