経歴・プロフィール
高校中退後、俳優を目指す傍らレンタルビデオ屋の店員になり、膨大な数の映画を鑑賞する生活を送る。やがて脚本を書きはじめ、「レザボアドッグス」（91）を自主製作しようとした頃、同作の脚本が俳優ハーベイ・カイテルに認められ、彼の後押しもあって監督デビュー。同作がサンダンス映画祭で好評を博し、劇場公開されて評判となる。デビュー前に脚本を手がけた「トゥルー・ロマンス」が93年にトニー・スコット監督、「ナチュラル・ボーン・キラーズ」が94年にオリバー・ストーン監督により映画化。自身監督2作目「パルプ・フィクション」（94）にはスターがこぞって出演し、カンヌ国際映画祭ではパルムドールを、アカデミー賞では脚本...
