ジョン・エドワード・マックは、アメリカの精神科医、作家、教授でした。彼は1977年から2004年までハーバード大学医学部の精神科の部長を務めました。1977年には、T.E. ローレンスに関する著書『A Prince of Our Disorder』でピューリッツァー賞を受賞しました。彼の臨床専門は、児童心理学、思春期心理学、宗教心理学でした。また、ティーンエイジャーの自殺や薬物依存症の心理学に関する主要な研究者としても知られ、後に宇宙人誘拐体験の心理学の研究者となりました。
