経歴・プロフィール
1945年生まれ、イングランド北部（ランカシャーとヨークシャー）で育ちましたが、13歳から18歳までケンブリッジの公立学校に通いました。 リーズ大学で英文学と美術を組み合わせた学士号（優等）を取得（1967年）。 8年間、さらなる教育のカレッジで一般教養、英語、美術を講義しました。 BBCの新作作家コンペティションで2年連続で最優秀賞を受賞（ラジオとテレビの1つずつ）。 奨学金を得てRADA（ロイヤル・アカデミー・オブ・ドラマティック・アート）に演技学生として入学（1975年）。 RADAをロンソン賞受賞者（最も有望な俳優）として卒業（1977年）。 1977-1980年：RSC（...
