マイク・スミスはカナダの俳優でミュージシャンで、ノバスコシア州ニューブラスゴーで生まれ、ソーバーンで育ちました。ノバスコシア州アンティゴニッシュにあるセントフランシス・ザビエル大学で英語の学位を取得しました。高校時代にはノバスコシア・ミジェットAAAホッケーリーグのピクトー郡ウィークスでホッケーをプレーしていました。2006年には女優ニコール・ヒルツと短期間婚約していました。彼は「バブルス」の役を演じ、カルトクラシックテレビ番組『トレーラーパーク・ボーイズ』の共同脚本家として最も知られています。
