カナダの天才バイオリニスト。5歳の時にウェールズの王子（後のエドワード7世）のために特別公演を行った。ウォルター・ハストンのいとこで、彼から最初はバーレスク、そして後にハリウッドのトーキー映画への道を勧められた。西部劇で信頼できる助演者として活躍し、今やクラシックとなった数々のカントリーソングを作曲した。
