アーサー・アスキーは、1900年に生まれた小柄なイギリスのコメディアンです。彼は1924年にミュージックホールのパフォーマーとしてプロのキャリアを始めましたが、1938年の『バンド・ワゴン』でイギリスの家庭名となりました。この番組は5シーズンも続きました。彼の映画デビューは1937年のイギリス映画『コーリング・オール・スターズ』でしたが、1939年には再び『バンド・ワゴン』が彼を映画スターに押し上げ、アーサーと共演者のリチャード・"スティンカー"・マードックが愛するアパートから追い出された後の物語が描かれました。映画スターとしての地位は1940年代中頃まで続きましたが、1956年に『ラムズボト...
