アイラ・コーエンはアメリカの詩人、出版者、写真家、映画製作者でした。コーエンは1960年代にモロッコとニューヨーク市に住み、1970年代にはカトマンズに滞在し、1980年代には世界を旅した後、ニューヨークに戻り、残りの人生を過ごしました。
